Today we looked at some images of animals in the wild and in captivity. We discussed the pros and cons of keeping animals in zoos. What is your opinion?
1. Should we have zoos, or should all animals be left to stay in the wild?
2. Can you think of any instances where keeping animals in a zoo might be beneficial to them or their species?

I believe that:
1. Zoos are a good thing because they help give a better chance to animals to be able to reproduce that are almost extinct.
2. It is beneficial for animals to be in a safe environment away from their predators.
3. A good zoo is a zoo where the animals are free and not in cages.
Well zoos can help them reproduce because their are no predators to take the eggs.
It can make it easier for them to get food because they don't have to hunt.
A good zoo would look like leaving the animals lots of space.

I think all animals should be out in the wild rather than be in a Zoo because they look happier in the wild than in the zoo.
One way the Zoo helps animals is that in the Zoo they are separated from their predators.

We should have zoos because they separate the predators from some animals that are endangered. We also shouldn't have zoos because they can separate families and because they are too closed in.

What I think about a zoo is that it's not fair that the animals get separated from their family, friends and the wildlife. Yes, I say that all animals should be allowed to live in the wild.
The only good time animals can be in the zoo is when we can see the animals from other countries.

We should have zoos for the reproduction of almost extinct animals. A good zoo should have lots of space for the animals. When I go to the zoo I feel sad for the animals because they lost their freedom, but I know they are safe there.

1) I find there should only be zoos for endangered, ill and injured animals and keep them there until they're are better then release them.
2) If they're ill, injured or endangered then it's good to have the animals in a zoo.
3) A zoo should be huge, have big enclosures, have the right food and tons of workers, doctors and scientists.
I think we should let animals be. If we bring them in a zoo they won't have their original food. For example a lion won't have zebras, they just give them meat. I find that it's good too because if a lion is hungry in the wild they will eat you if they don't have anything to eat. So in zoos you are protected because they are in a cage.
1. Yes we should have zoos but only for the animals that are endangered. The instinct of hunting and getting your own food is important because if the zoo burns down the animals will maybe get sent back in to the wild and not know how to hunt.
